Although a trip to your favorite spa is a nice treat, it can be costly (and requires you to leave the house—boo).
On days when you don't feel like going anywhere—skip the trip and bring the spa to you.
You'll still enjoy the same benefits with these home spa ideas and your home will be transformed into a relaxing spa oasis. Who doesn't want that!?
Try a rejuvenating spa treatment, pamper yourself with luxurious Blissy products, and take time to care for yourself during your spa day at home. Self-care is so important!
But first, let's start with even more reasons to have an at-home spa day.
Why You Should Have an At-Home Spa Day
Although you don't need an excuse to have an at-home spa day, it doesn't hurt to talk about how great it is:
Having a spa experience at home is a great way to practice self-care and prioritize your wellness—all within steps of your oh-so-comfortable bed. Don't worry about getting dressed or driving anywhere. Indulge in a calming, low-stress day.
Easily bond and have fun with friends and family! Plus, it'll save you all quite a bit of money and there'll be no time limits set on your spa day at home.
In your own home, you have complete control over your spa experience. You choose the products you love most, create the ambiance of your dreams, and take as much time as you wish!
Spa treatments aren't only done in a spa. Use face masks, exfoliating treatments, moisturizing creams, and more during your at-home spa day!
7 Steps to Create the Perfect At-Home Spa Day
Follow these steps as you see fit to create the in-home spa experience of your dreams—repeatable any hour, any time. Pamper yourself at your leisure, because you deserve it!
1. Set the mood
Setting the mood is the first step to having a dreamy and rejuvenating at-home spa day.
One of the most important steps to creating a relaxing ambiance is filling your space with calming aromas. One of the best ways to do this is by spritzing any Blissy Sleep & Pillow Mist around your room.
These natural sprays have a soothing scent that helps you relax and drift off to sleep. They're made from essential oils, like eucalyptus essential oil and lavender oil, and are perfect for an at-home spa day.
You can also use an essential oil diffuser and calming candles to enhance your experience. Candlelight itself helps create a peaceful atmosphere, whether you burn real ones or use battery-powered candles (great if you want to set it and forget it while you drift off to spa land).
Music is also important. Whether you use Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Music, or YouTube, you can easily find pre-made spa playlists. Listening to meditation playlists, white or brown noise, or nature sounds are also great options.

2. Prepare your skin
The next step is to exfoliate and cleanse your skin. Organize your skin care tools so they're easily accessible.
Before you start your shower routine, give yourself a dry brushing session. This will increase blood flow and stimulate the production of collagen. It's best to start at the top of your feet and continue brushing upward.
You can also try a glass skin massage, which increases blood flow and helps your skin look radiant. Wash your face with warm water (warm steam from the shower head can also be helpful) before you begin your face massage.
In the shower, say bye-bye to dead skin cells by exfoliating with a body scrub and/or pumice stone (the latter is great for removing calluses).
Don't leave out your gorgeous locks! Pamper your tresses with a scalp and hair treatment in the shower, like a DIY banana and olive oil mask.
3. Slip into your Blissy Silk Robe
After you dry off, slip into our luxurious, 100% mulberry silk robe—a must-have for fellow self-care divas.
It's sophisticated, chic, ultra-soft, soothing to skin, comfortable to wear, and flattering for all, making it the perfect robe to don during your at-home spa day.
Plus, silk has amazing beauty benefits:
Silk has very little friction, which means fewer fine lines and wrinkles
It's hypoallergenic, making it safe even for those with sensitive skin
Silk won't absorb your skin's natural oils or skincare products, so your spa treatments won't go to waste
Blissy values self-care, which is why we offer luxe, high-quality items that help you relax and restore.
4. Apply a face mask
While you're enjoying being a fabulous self-care queen in your Blissy Silk Robe, get ready to take care of your skin with a face mask!
Before you begin, put on a fab Blissy Beauty Band to keep hair from falling in your face (it's the amazing spa headband you wish you'd had sooner).
The Blissy Beauty Band is stretchy enough to gently hold back hair during your at-home spa day. Plus, it's made from luxurious mulberry silk, so it won't tug, dent, or snag hair, or absorb skincare products.
Depending on your preference, you can try a rinse-off mask (like a clay, charcoal, or cream mask), or a sheet mask, which you remove after allowing the nutrients to absorb into your skin.
Moisturizing cream masks are great for those with dry skin!
Aside from face masks, you can also apply lip masks or a gel eye mask! Eye masks are excellent to soothe dry skin or puffiness around the eyes.
5. Take a bath
What at-home spa day would be complete without a relaxing bath? Soothe aches and calm your mind with a nice long dip in the tub.
If you have a bath tray, now's the perfect time to set it up with a warm cup of tea or bubbly, fruit-infused water, some decadent chocolates, and your favorite book.
Take out your favorite bath soak, like bath salts, a bath bomb, and/or essential oils, and drop them into the hot water.
Bath salts can help with various ailments, including sore muscles, inflammation, and dry skin. Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) is one of the most common bases in bath salts.
Add some calming essential oils, like lavender, eucalyptus, or cedarwood, to your bath for an even more immersive spa experience.
Want to close your eyes for a bit? Pop a couple of cucumber slices over your eyes while you melt into the tub.
Instead of a standard bath, you could try a Korean half bath or ban-shin-yok. Instead of filling the tub all the way to the top with hot water, fill it with very warm water to about the height of your belly button. Don't submerge your upper body under the water for preferably at least 15-20 minutes. This technique does wonders for balancing energy levels and boosting circulation.
Once you've enjoyed a nice long soak, the next step in your at-home spa day is to deeply hydrate your skin.
When moisturizing your skin, use healthy-skin ingredients like hyaluronic acid serum (helps skin stay hydrated), vitamin E (an antioxidant), and vitamin C (also an antioxidant, which may help improve skin tone).
Use your favorite body lotion all over to pamper your skin. If you have dryer skin in some areas, show them a little extra TLC by rubbing in natural products like shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, or argan oil (argan oil is also great for dry hair).
Want a more simple routine? Try one-step moisture pads. These are often formulated as "all-in-one" rounds, which come presoaked with toner, serum, and moisturizer. They can be gently wiped across your face and discarded, or, you can use several and let them soak into your skin like a mask for about 15 minutes.
You can also use a small spray bottle, like Laneige's Cream Skin Mist, to help maintain that fabulous moisture you've worked so hard for.
7. Relax and unwind
Finish your DIY spa night with even more relaxation. Wrap yourself back up in your luxe Blissy Silk Robe and lie down.
Treat yourself to a hand massage (being on our phones all day causes so much tension). Hydrate your lips, too, before you take some deep breaths and enjoy a time of rest or meditation (Earth Mama Nipple Butter does wonders for lips, too).
Gently massage coconut oil into your feet to relax, while naturally helping soothe and protect skin.
